In juli stelde zich hetzelfde probleem bij het faillissement van het Italiaanse Myair. Op dat moment antwoorde commissaris voor transport Tajani dat er geen compensatiefonds bestaat, maar dat de oprichting van een garantiefonds overwogen wordt. Volgens Saïd moet er dringend werk gemaakt worden van zo'n garantiefonds: "Het is intussen wel duidelijk dat nog meer lagekostmaatschappijen, de crisis niet zullen overleven. Europa voorziet op dit moment compensaties bij annulaties en vertragingen van vluchten, het is niet meer dan logisch dat ook voor faillissementen een oplossing geboden wordt. " Saïd kaartte dit probleem reeds aan in de transportcommissie.
